Black coffee or caffeinated green tea are a lot cheaper and work pretty well, why not give them a try?

I usually down a cup of green tea to get me going pre workout. I also like Lo-Carb Monster Energy Drink (http://www.monsterenergy.com/scripts/me_productLoCarb.php)

Nutrition Facts: serving size 8 fl oz; servings per container 2; calories 10; total carbs 3g; sugars 3g; vitamin c 60mg; riboflavin 1.7mg; niacin 20mg; vitamin b6 2mg; vitamin b12 6mcg; sodium 180mg; taurine 1000mg; panax-ginseng 200mg; energy blend 2500mg

It sells for about the same price as a can of red bull, but twice as big.

"Page cannot be found"

By the way why can you not handle black coffee? Can't you dilute it somewhat and make it weaker? Or is it the taste?

Big bump to the green tea. I'm not a fan of caffeine and the benefits of green tea are endless. I love shopping around for different varieties and its refreshing and gives me a little (healthy) pick up when Im feeling a bit slow.

Double bumping the Green Tea. You can decaffinate(for the most part) any tea by pouring out the water from the "first pour". That is, pour your hot water into the cup, or pot with your tea leaves. Now pour that water out, and pour more water back into your vessel...steep as usual.
The majority of caffine in the tea leaves is released when the hot water hits them on the first pour. Regarding green tea...I would highly recommend the Organic Gunpowder available through Tealuxe. (http://www.tealuxe.com) This is one of the finest green teas that I have been able to find at a very reasonable price.

Wow that's a great tip on decaffeination! Regarding Green Tea, does anyone know just what's so great about it, vis-a-vis energy/weight loss? My wife bought some decaffeinated green tea and I was like "huh? whats the point?"

Is there some other quality about it?

Also, I used to be a heavy coffee drinker (in both senses of the phrase - lol), but I've found that eating clean and drinking at least 1 gallon of water a day have done wonders for my energy level and I do not use caffeine much anymore. I have a home-brewed cup in the morning and that's it. In fact this morning I went without and didn't miss it.

Water - I'm tellin ya! Water.

.

Regarding weight loss I'm not to sure of the benefits. I drink it because of the high amount of antioxidants and its disease preventitive properties, among the many other benefits. Just google it.

I mentioned the energy here because its relevant to the thread and because it is a good pick me up. I dont know of any other benefits to weight loss though. Your right about the water. All I drink is tea and water (plus some protein shakes).

Kino, cool tip on decaffination, I was not aware of that. It'll be handy at work when I run out of green tea and have to rely on normal tea. I also use gunpowder green tea (not sure of brand) but my favourite is good old Sencha green tea.

Has anyone tried ROOIBOS tea? Its meant to contain more antioxidants than green tea. I've been using it for the last couple of weeks and it seems pretty good.

Sencha is actually Green Tea from India. I always keep some Blood Orange Sencha on hand as well.
I haven't looked at the Tealuxe site in a while, since I'm lucky enough to have one of their cafe's within minutes of me. But I think that you may be able to find some additional info on teas there.

Fairtrade green tea with ginseng for me. When I can find it.

In the mornings though I am hugely partial to a cup of good ground coffee. Not quite into the Jamaican blue mountain territory, (i'm not that rich) but a great cup of coffee makes me crave for less during the day.
