and im noticing that i dont think im getting enough calories. Im like close to 1000 behind what I should get. Could this be very detremental to my goal of loosing fat? I work out and do cardio but i never feel wierd or abnormal doing them...never sick or anything. Id imagine i could really benefit from adding more food to my diet.

I started doing this 2 weeks ago myself and it has been quite an eye opener. Incidentally it has coincided with the best fitness progress I have ever made in such a short time. I've come to the conclusion that my total caloric intake before started this fat loss cycle was probably actually LESS than it is now. I think the reason I remained flabby in spite of this is twofold
1) the calories were heavily loaded towards the end of the day. I'd eat like a bird or not at all until supper, then have basically 2 portions of supper, then cram in some potato chips or other crap. Then right before bed my glucose would plummet and I'd raid the pantry or fridge.
2) the ratio of macronutrients was not carefully balanced. This is pretty much impossible to do unless you are recording everything you eat, and are making every effort to get that nutriional info for it all.
Now I'm eating 2000 calories/day, getting 200g of protein, and eating in 6 evenly spaced meals. I feel like a million bucks, am losing fat, and feel very strong during weight training. I'm also never hungry, never bonked, and never stuffed.
Oh yeah, flatulance is a thing of the past too, much to the joy of the rest of my family. :)
So this is working great for me, and the keystone was the calorie tracking.
At least, so far...
