View Full Version : Estrogen reduction-fat burning
TheRyanator Wed, December 29th, 2004, 12:29 PM I have a business acquaintance who is an avid fitness/bodybuilding person. He has juiced before I know, but now claims to be clean.
However, he always recommends this supplement that reduces your body's ability to process estrogen at the reception points through out your body, therefore creating increased use of the testosterone your body produces. He claims that for men this stuff is awesome because it blocks estrogen, which is the key to keeping your body from storing fat. Some men's body's produce more estrogen than others so in their case he claims this to be a great supplement.
I did notice while reading up on these supplements that many juicers use these supplements between cycles to reset their hormone balances. I am just wondering if there is any danger involved in this type of product. One brand I have seen is called 6-oxo. Anyone have any input or experience with this stuff?
1FastGTX Wed, December 29th, 2004, 02:25 PM 6OXO is used as post cycle therapy, correct. By users of steroids and prohormones (at least the stronger ones). Some say it's not nearly strong enough and opt for perscription (illegally sometimes) medications like Nolvadex and Clomid.
I am not a huge fan of bodybuilding.com's forums but I do read there often. You should check out the supplement section there. I saw a couple of threads where a guy was taking 6OXO withOUT roids or prohormones. Only using it to try and jump his natural test levels I guess. I think there was one thread that was a few pages deep.
EDIT: I have read that 6OXO will be a big seller once the PH ban hits; apparently it will be the stronges "PH Alternative."
djerickd Wed, January 19th, 2005, 12:41 PM I just started a cycle of 6-oxo, taking 600mg a day. I'll post up after the cycle with my findings. :bb:

Please do! I would be very interested in hearing about it.

Yeah, what he said
I went to the doc a while back and my testosterone count was a little below average... I'm now 33, so if this works I'll try it.
:(

What the... your test levels were low and he didn't give you a perscription for something??
Go get it tested at another doctor and get a script. Or try eating more fat. :)
1FastGTX Wed, January 19th, 2005, 01:06 PM Hey guys here is that thread:

slush_puppy Wed, January 19th, 2005, 01:08 PM Another option is the Forza-T supplement that Sly sells in his InStone line. It's pretty pricey, though!
djerickd Wed, January 19th, 2005, 01:22 PM That was my motivation to go 6-oxo, I already take ZMA, and Tribulus. Forza-T just adds in 6-oxo, but it's $$$. Sci-Fit just came out with their version of Forza-T called TZ3, I may get some after this 6-oxo bottle runs out.

Lucky13MN Wed, January 19th, 2005, 01:28 PM Just ordered some, just under $35 shipped for 60 capsules (20 day supply roughly).
Kinda spendy... but it was the cheapest I found, dpsnutrition.com
TheRyanator Wed, January 19th, 2005, 02:49 PM Wow! Thanks for that thread link...started reading it...it answered one of my first questions right off, about whether you should take it or not if you are not on a steroid/ph cycle. The concensus seems to be that it is alright to take it as a stand alone.
Anyone know of any heart related side effects or cautions? My family has a history of STRESS related heart attacks.
Thanks for all the info GTX
