View Full Version : PWO woes
chrisb Mon, December 27th, 2004, 01:20 AM Well let me explain the interesting topic. I have always been a sucker for one thing... coffee coolers. Yup, on my cheat day it's the one thing i can say i enjoy the most. I'm addicted to the coffee flavor, but I don't like regular coffee. Back to my point, my friend recently pointed out to me how much money I was wasting on buying the coffee coolers from places like caribou and starbucks. So what does he say instead to do? Buy this coffee syrup from a grocery store, and make it your self! So we go to the store, he points out the "NesCafe Ice Java coffee cooler", and we head on our way. So i get home, I look at it... 80 cal. for about 3 tbsp. and 19g of carbs. 18 of those being 'sugar'. So i think to myself "I wonder what this would taste like with a little vanilla whey". And now i have a huge problem. This is the BEST tasting thing I have every had, period. So for the last few days (KNOWING that this is not the proper PWO shake at all) i've been using this, as oppose to other *better* sources of simple sugars. For some reason in my head, I keep saying it can't be that bad. I can't tell you if it has set me back at all. If this is terrible a PWO ingredient, i need someone to tell me, so I can get off this nasty, short term, habbit. I'm one of those people that if someone tells me to stop something, i will. Thought I'd share and see if someone could get up enough courage to tell me how bad this is... and i'll drop it :tu:
and has anyone else discovered this devil known as, Ice Java?
:claphigh:
Thanks guys!
Kino Mon, December 27th, 2004, 11:57 AM It's just god awful!!!...Think of all those people who work on farms and construction sites day after day after day, without access to any kind of post work out nutrition, or even a clue about what it is. Poor bastards just seem to get bigger and bigger, and have no idea at all why. That's gotta suck huh?
chrisb Mon, December 27th, 2004, 02:46 PM that's exactly what I needed :tu:
jak Mon, December 27th, 2004, 04:21 PM As I was suffering caffeine withdrawal during my last [successful, so far] attempt to give it up - - I dumped instant coffee into a chocolate whey/nonfat milk, blended , scarfed it down. It was great, did not have some of those ingredients.
Might work to hold your demons off.
chrisb Mon, December 27th, 2004, 04:52 PM I am officially addicted :(. This is my break weak, and i'm already suffering from not having my cooler :D. When i was out of shape and i guess.. fat, I had to break off my ice cream fetish, and about everything else imaginable. It should be easy, but there is something in this ice java i swear!

I've added instant expresso (like the coffee but stronger) and sugar free syrup (hazlenut, vanilla, etc)--yum!
chrisb Thu, December 30th, 2004, 04:20 PM well since this is my break weak, i'm giving myself some leeway. I'm going to be starting a new routine, and new lots of stuff (which ill post about later this week). But after this week is done, say good bye to Mr. Ice Java (i think it has also caused me some gingivitis.. damn sugar) Good thing i don't drink pop :tu:
