Due to price and convenience, I tend to buy a lot of the food I eat (kidney beans, tunafish, spinach) canned.
They all come with high levels of sodium in them.
A 5 oz can of tuna comes with 625 mg of sodium
A 128 g can of dark red kidney beans comes with 1085 mg of sodium
A 115 g of Spinach comes with 570 mg of sodium.
I heard that washing out the can with water can remove "some" of the sodium. I was wondering how much sodium it removes, which I am assuming is based on how well you wash it out. I usually wash each can out three times with tap water. (who knows what I'm adding through that)
I was wondering if anyone else dranked their food and knew how much sodium you actually remove when you wash it out in water given you do it fairly well.
