I've read several different opions on the subject, but I thought I might throw it out in this forum to see if there is something better out there.
Basically, my stomach is just rather "poochy" in the lower abdominal region. I don't have too much fat over my abs - it sits mostly in the love handle area, but I was wondering if anyone had any solutions to flatten the stomach in that region? Maybe some good ab exercises, or at least an explanation as to why this seems to occur. Upon awaking I am generally feeling fit and trim but by the end of the day my stomach is always pooching out!

I've had the same problem. I don't have too much fat but my stomach always seemed to be huge!! So I started to eat more fiber and psyllium every day and in a month my stomach got so flat, I had never seen my stomach like this before. It was pure constipation and bloating.
I'm so happy now because I know how my stomach is for real and I know that my diet and exercise is working and I'm not that fat!!!
It was my stomach and intestines that were huge! Try taking a colon cleanser regularly.
I'm happy, flat and regular!! :claphigh:

Thanks for the info. I'll give that a try and see if that helps after a couple of weeks!

Psyllium is a source of dietary fiber, it's used for constipation so it will help you be regular. Here's some info: http://www.bodyandfitness.com/Information/Herbal/Research/psyllium.htm

Metamucil is great, it's psyllium fiber.

I can't quote my source, as I read this a long time ago. But, they say that stress causes increased fat deposits in the stomach. Something about keeping the energy source closer to where it's needed.
So, if you live a stressed out lifestyle (I'm an IT guy, so stress applies) you can be toned everywhere and still have that belly. It might be the last thing to go.
