Hey Everyone,
I found this site a few weeks ago and have finally decided that I need to stop eating crap. The healthiest I ever eat is the occasional turkey sandwich and banana for lunch, but other than that it's just the standard college student crap. So monday i'm going to go shopping and tuesday i'm going to start my visits to Purdue's AWESOME $5 million one year old student workout center. I'm currently 20 years old, 6'2", and 197#. My initial goal is to lose 10#, get my feet wet with the cardio and weights, and go from there. This shouldn't be too hard, being that i've put on 5# since the end of football/marching season (marching band big 10 style is a VERY under rated work out)
Anyways, what i need is a shopping list. The only healthing thing i have now is water and i'm not quite sure where to start to get a good rounded diet going. The only thing i'd really like to avoid that i've seen on a lot of diets here is tuna...can't stand it, other than that i'm pretty open. Another thing i'm curious about and have no knowledge of is supplements/powders (whey, protein, ect.) I probably can't afford them this week (maybe next) but i'd like more information on their use and effect.
Thanks for the advice, I'll be back from my trip sunday night to ask any follow up questions.
