Maybe for no other reason than to keep my butt in gear during the holiday seasons I am starting this thread. Tomorrow morning (December 19) I will weigh in and record it here. Two weeks later I will consider this "challenge" over, on the 2nd of January. I will weigh in again then.

We will record weigh loss as a percentage of total weight, not in pounds.

The biggest loser wins the fact that they are closer to their goals :D.

I'll go it alone if no one else wants to.

I should probably note that I think I am at a bit of a plateau, but I have dedication and inner strength the likes of which no man (or woman) has seen

All righty, starting at 236. If no one else joins, a mod can move this to the "journal" forum or whatever :).

I'll do it. Today I am 195. I however do not "have dedication and inner strength the likes of which no man (or woman) has seen", so wish me luck. I have been on a very very bad path these last few months. I think it is time to turn around and find the right path. I know I can find it because I was on it for about 70 pounds of weigh-loss. I have stopped lifting and I have stopped cardio and I have started eating crap! Why oh why? I wish I knew but I don't. I see those Cheez-it's, Dorito's, and cookies and they say eat me and I do. I see those weights and they say lift me and I say um no. I see that elliptical it says ride me and I say maybe later. I'm saying yes to all the wrong things. So today is the day.

Welcome aboard.

New Rule: No announcing to the rest of the group what cheat foods you had if you cheated. I don't need to sit here reading the thread and having it make me salivate.

Fujo, once you start up the cardio and weight training again, you will get right back on track. It just sucks to start because your body is out of shape, once you change that it just becomes a fun challenge to keep bettering yourself. Thats how you lost your 70lbs and how I lost my 40lbs. I'm not quitting until I'm done... going for broke ;).

I know i'm not gonna win this challenge since it's based on fat loss, but i'll go in on the challenge to avoid the holiday weight gain and perhaps keep myself from completely overdoing it! I'm not gonna restrict myself but I will be trying to eat clean aside from stuffing my face on Christmas day and the night before of course :D

Current: 166 pounds, 8.3% BF

Good luck fellas :tu:

Good luck, y'all!

I'll join in as well...damned if I want to retype my weight here, but here it is, I just re-weighed myself to be sure: 160

I refuse to talk about body fat, BTW. Y'all will have to be happy with poundage until I get my gumption up! BUT...I AM Doing it well already, and am eating right. Helps that my Mother-in-Law is losing weight too, so there's no pressure to "try this or that" this year YAAAAAAAY!

I'm in. If nothing than for your Cartman avatar. He tells the best Christmas stories of the Woodland Critters.

I started my Hip Trip yesterday (the 19th), so this is a fitting start. I'm starting at 208 lbs.

Happy Holidays - see you all in 2 weeks!

I'm in as well. I weighed in at 177 yesterday morning which was a little more than usual... seems like I am gaining on a cutting cycle. Anyway. Good luck all.

Welp, the next (final) weigh-in is due tomorrow morning, I'll just say a few words about my holiday and what not and report my weight after i weigh in tomorrow.

I didn't find it too difficult and didn't really fall from my diet much/any more than I planned. I snacked a bit more than normal, but it was on things like mixed nuts, not frosted cookies or a host of other bad things we have around. My parent's house is Christmas-central though, we had 17 people staying here and they all brought their goodies. We still have WAY too much of the stuff laying around (maybe cause I've been so good? :p)

I had planned on eating with the family on Christmas Eve night and Christmas night (the two big "full house" nights for us), and I did just that. I ate reasonable portions of pretty much everything.

My exercise has diminished to about nothing... When I got here the high for the entire week was like 10 or 15 degrees. That was fine, because I had planned on setting up the bike on the trainer in the basement to get my cardio done. Well, I did that the day after I arrived and rode for about 10 minutes until my balls/cock were completely numb. I could kind of keep the blood flowing by constantly moving myself around on the seat. I got another 15 minutes (25 total) out of the cardio by doing that, and 15 minutes after I was done, the feeling was back to about 75%. That was the end of that idea :(. Just a few days ago the weather has started warming up (until today anyhow), so I got two days of running in for a total of 8 miles. I don't feel so great - due to a lack of proper exercise, but I don't feel terrible I suppose. By January 20th, I'll be back in good form and feeling great about the future anyhow :).

I think that pretty much covers it, anyone else care to share?

I think I'm tapping out - thanks to my parents' set up, I did get my workouts in (all but two, due to flight delays) - but I ate horribly. The good thing is for all the junk I ate, I pretty much made up for with my workouts. No improvement to speak of, but no setbacks. Plus, I decided to cut booze after New Years, so that always helps.

I had high hopes for the holiday, but knew I probably wouldn't stick to it. The good that came out of the vacation was I got my parents on board with this site, so they've started back up with a regular workout schedule and eating right.

Here's to a fun and promising year!

I didn't do great -- I didn't gain anything but I only lost 0.6%

I am continuing to eat right and have started cardio again and will start weights again tomorrow. I am going to do it.

all righty, so I think I'm right about that plateau I thought I was on. I was at 236 this morning :(.

Hopefully I'll get it sorted before too long and start losing again... can't wait :).

Final weigh-in: lost about .5% of what I started with. Funny thing is, it fluctuated a lot, mostly due to the booze. I did lose 1% the first week, and gained most of it back this past week from traveling and new years. In all, I'm down 1 lb over the past two weeks (lost 2 the first week, gained 1 the next).

This is a good idea for a challenge - perhaps next year do it for the whole month of Dec?

:gl: this new year!

Ok, so I gained 5 LBS...but I dropped into a lower pant size. I was working out, aside from Christmas day and 4 days after, when I was terribly ill. I dunno if I did any good here or not!

All total, I've now lost 4 pant sizes (looove wearing my jeans!)...

Let me rephrase that....I dropped into that lower pant size since last month...not over the two week challenge!!! Sorry if I misled anyone...

The only thing that matters is that you dropped! Way to go!
