Just took a week off from cutting and am going to start a bulk. Unfortunately, I'm one of those guys who's going to have to cut down to 6% or below to see full ab development. At this point I feel it's in my best intersest to add some lean mass so I don't end up too small before I see full abs.

My original plan was to start bulking this Saturday. I Decided to start bulking a few days early. I'm sure that I'm not alone in being truly motivated by John's bulking photo's. Dude got huge!

One thing about trying to bulk clean is that you have to eat a hell of alot more clean food to get your required calories than if you were bulking on junk. I have to say that at this point I'm having a little trouble forcing down all of this food. It's definately a huge switch going from 1500 clean cals when cutting to 2500 + cals bulking. Hopefully it's like everything else..and eating this much gets easier with time.

I got some B4 pictures taken this morning so I'll have a good comparison. My stats as of this morning before beginning my bulk were:

Weight: 140.0 Lbs
Bodyfat: 8.5 %
Arms: 14.125
Waist: 28.0"

I'll try to post my progress every week...........Ta2d

BTW........Where's the smiley icon with the knife and fork that's pissed off because he's still full from the last meal and it's time to eat again.......!

Good luck Ta2d - wish I was starting a bulking phase. I love food, it really is one of the best things in the world. Although if I started a bulking phase now, I reckon I'd need my own zip code hehe.

I'll check in on you from time to time, best of luck mate and get huge!

Kewl! Thanks for the encouragement! Helps keep me motivated. I'm on my 4th day and all of this food is getting easier to put down. The scale is already rising to my suprise and I haven't started to gain any bodyfat yet. I didn't expect to see results this quickly! My plan at this point is to bulk until April 2, 2005 (16 weeks) or (15% bodyfat-whichever comes first) and then cut for another 12 weeks (June 25th). This should put me in good shape bodyfat wise just in time for "shirtless" weather here in Central Illinois!

Weight: 142.0 Lbs
Bodyfat: 7 %
Arms: 14.125 (cold)
Waist: 28.0"

Been officially bulking for a little over a month now. Currently taking in approx. 2700 per day on workout days, slightly less on non work out days. So far I've gained (2) lbs in about 4.5 weeks time, which equals out to about 1/2 lb gain per week. Bodyfat level has actually went down by about 1% and my waist measurement remains the same as when I began bulking @ 28". So far I've been able to add at least 5 lbs per week to almost every lift performed in my workout since I"ve began bulking. If I can keep bulking and gaining at this rate without putting on much of any fat as I have for the last month...I may bulk indefinately or again, until my bodyfat reaches 15% at which point I'll cut back down. My ultimate goal would be to reach 165 - 170 lbs @ 10% bodyfat. That my be too much to ask for out of a single bulking phase.....but those are what I'm shooting for long term.

Well (8) weeks into my bulk I decided to end my bulking phase. During my (8) week bulk I managed to put on 6 lbs of lean mass and very little bodyfat (around 1.5% over 8 weeks). With spring and summer on it's way I decided to switch back over to a good "cut" in effort to be lean and ripped for warm weather.

My last "cut" lasted 10 weeks and was somewhat of a success, although I still didn't have a full visible 6 pack yet. I ended up fairly lean but I was still holding alot of water still had a tad bit of lower abdominal fat (the dreaded "last to go" fat). I'm hoping with this extra 6 lbs of lean mass that this time I can get "r-i-p-p-e-d" to shreds. I've hired "Swolecat" to guide me through this process in an effort to keep all the lean mass that I've gained during my bulk. Combined with his expertise maybe I'll get there a little bit quicker with better quality results and pick up some valuable information to use for the rest of my life!

I'll keep everyone posted as to my results!
