View Full Version : cutting for a 19yr old girl
Jackie Mon, November 29th, 2004, 10:45 PM ive been reading the threads on cutting, and i'm feeling as if they are mainly directed towards men. I want to start cutting, but i'm not exactly sure how to go about it. At the beginning of september i weighed about 123 pounds, and had 18% body fat. Since then i've been eating alot more (2500 calories a day) and lifting 4 times a week for about 40 minutes with my trainer, plus cardio and other forms of strength training. I now weigh around 130 (maybe a little more). I've clearly gained some muscle, but i've also gained some fat. I want to start cutting to reveal this sexy muscle i've worked so hard for, but i have no clue how much to eat, how much protein, how much fat, calories?? etc... or what i should be doing with my training. any tips?
thanks :)

At 130 lbs, 5'6" and 19 years old, You have a BMR of 1456. We will multiply that by a very active factor of 1.725 for your activity to get a maintainace calorie requirement of 2511.6. Now we subtract 500 calories for a one pound loss a week in your cutting to get 2012 calories.
You can pick your own macro breakout but I will show an example of 60% carbs, 20% fats, 20% protein. That would be 302 grams of carbs, 45 grams of fat, and 100.6 gms of protein. Now you might decide in another breakout. I am sure you will get suggestions.
You have a trainer, who should be able to give you the best advice on exercise.

akm3 Tue, November 30th, 2004, 10:22 AM And congrats on being so fit at such a "young" age, those of us who let things get out of control and are trying to fix it now in our very late twenties/early thirties or even early forties+ have sometimes decades of habits to overcome!
Anyway, the short story is women should train just like men do, all the advice you see "for men" should apply to you as well!
Don't forget to post pics when you have completed your transformation!!
