I feel like I'm 16 again right now...

Most of you probably know by now that music is a HUGE part of my life. Well, on 105.9 FM here in Orlando, they're doing an "All Hair Band Weekend" through Sunday. This was the music that made me who I am today! They are playing Motley Crue's version of "Smokin' In The Boyz Room" right now... this was the anthem of my generation. I find myself head-banging again! Rarely does today's music do this to me... even most of the stuff I work on today. Anyway.... it just feels like I'm a teenager again... it's a hot, sticky night at home... the only thing missing is my dad yelling in from the room next to mine to, and I quote, "Turn that shit down! I could make better music clanging some pots and pans together!"

My question...

Is there something in your life that moves you like this?

What is it? Tell us about it.

This music moves me. It's motivating. It reminds me of some very happy, awkward, fun, and damn embarrassing days! I remember being horrible at guitar back then, and how much my dad discouraged it. He hated me playing guitar! And I used to think I'd never get anywhere with my playing. I remember playing until my fingertips bled, and then I'd fill the cut with superglue and keep practicing!! Man, this music is a formitive part of me... when I was a kid and things were simpler. Don Johnson and his Miami Vice look was actually popular, not a joke. "Dallas" was the TV event of the week. There was an east and a west Germany. Reagan was prez. Do you realize that a kid graduating from high school today doesn't have a good, clear memory of his presidency? They don't know a world without personal computers. Or remote controls. Remember when you had to get up and change the channel? Or coerce your sibling to do it (guilty as charged!)[/i]??

If my damn gym was open, I'd put this station on my MP3 player and do 60 minutes on the treadmill. It'd go by like it was five minutes!!

i'd actually have to go with you on this one...music.

not playing it...experiencing it. I LOVE LIVE SHOWS. Being in the crowd, seeing the bands, getting in the pit, I LIVE FOR IT. It's primal, its raw, its real....reminds me what it feels like to really be alive.

Noone is judging you, you can just completely effing RAGE all night. Hearing my system scream as i'm cruisng down the freeway, head bangin' fist pumping heart pounding fist stumping hardcore metal...jesus its a beautiful thing.

Then on the other end of the spectrum...trance and house music....sippin a few drinks going out to a club and dancing. Pop and lock liquid spins....if you're like me you actually feel the beats in your blood.

either way its music that moves me, that motivates me in any situation.

Dude I was just listening to 105 on the way home tonight from my parents' house (looking after their bird/cat while they're out of town), and I thought "dude did they change formats? cause this music is way better!!"

Music is what moves me too. A good tune by Clint Brown (gospel music) will do it any day (you'd have to hear him to understand, it's not like the gospel music most people think of).

Among other things:

Walking into a large room with a bunch of people while loud music is playing (like in high school walking into the basketball gym before a game or during a pep rally, lol).

Going into the lockerroom after a good chest/trap workout, taking off my shirt, and staring at myself when my chest is pumped and huge (I did this today hahaha).

Doing leg press with these light colored shorts on where I can see my quads looking enormous.

The sound of my supercharger.

When my girlfriend has on this certain pair of jeans where her butt looks really good (haha).

Seeing a good Flash intro by FakePilot (http://www.fakepilot.com), he does tight work for Sean John, Bryant Park Hotel, Justin Timberlake, and more (his video work is stunning too; I am a computer nerd btw).
