I know that the holiday weekend is just for us in the states, and to all of my fellow Americans I wish you a very blessed Thanksgiving Holiday and pray you have time to relax, fill yourself with gratitude, and share with friends and family. For those of you elsewhere in the world, have a great week as well - heck, just because it's not a holiday for you doesn't mean you can't enjoy it as well!
My wife ordered us a nice free-range organic turkey that is thawing in the sink right now. We are trading in the traditional green bean casserole for a carrot sauté and making our own mashed potatoes with less butter. The stuffing will be cooked on the side in a casserole instead of catching all of the turkey fat but treats? Yeah, we might as well enjoy some treats ... simply in moderation.
We are having it here with our family at 2pm and then afterwards drive to nearby Rapid City to meet with our extended family at my aunt and uncle's house for dessert. I look forward to it.
I actually have butterflies in my stomach with anticipation for Friday. This is the first day our ski slope opens. I can't WAIT to hit the slopes!
You all take care and stay healthy and happy.
Yours in health,
