How can I lose fat and keep my lean mass? While reducing my body fat along with increasing my strength is this possible?

Very possible. Have you lifted weights before? If you're a newbie then amazing things are possible that really can't be explained by science. You may even gain muscle mass while be hypocaloric. Strength gains can be purely neuromuscular so caloric intake sometimes makes no difference.

There is often some confusion about lean mass. Most people look to lean mass religiously as muscle mass, which it is not. It is everything that is not fat, and this includes water and other items. Fat cells are composed of some water, so if you lose a large amount of fat, you WILL lose lean mass - but not muscle, as most would think, simply water weight.

I'm sure you are focused on muscle mass. Provided you stimulate the muscles through resistance training and don't lose weight too quickly, you can retain or even gain muscle tissue. The issue comes when people are impatient and want to lose at some marathon pace ... your body can only process so much fat per week, so when you push the limit beyond about 1 - 2 percent of your weight each week, you risk losing muscle mass in the process.

As mentioned, when you first start out, you have the greatest window of opportunity to gain muscle you will ever have.

I have lifted on and off since I was 12 Im now 20!

Well My goal is to get 190! Within 2 months. Im now 208lbs dunno if its possible. My next goal is a lifetime goal and thats 170 with low bf%

And Jeremy I understood the lean mass thing to a bit before I asked thanks for clarifying that up!

So just get the proper diet and workout with cardio and ill be ok?
