Goal: To cut and have visible abs for Spring/Summer 2005.

Stats:
Height: 5'9
Weight: 165.5
Starting Date: 11/20/04

Comments: After some thought I've decided to start my online weight loss diary. I was considering just using a personal diary, but then I thought that it would be an advantage to get the motivation and input from everyone here at JSF.

Background: I've been lifting the past 2 months and I'm currently formulating a new workout plan that will start on the monday after Thanksgiving. Lately, my diet has been subpar. While I have tried to eat healthy a majority of the time, I recently fell into a rut where I had been buying far too much fast food. I estimate that this has made me gain betweeen 5-10 lbs - I believe some of this to be muscle though. My main goal to to achieve visible abs for the spring/summer because there are a lot of big plans in store for those times (possibility of any or all of: a trip to Cancun, trip to Hawaii, cruise in the Bahamas - with the latter two occuring in the summer).

Plan: Three day lifting split. Generally on MWF, but will have to be flexible if school engagements occur (ie exams). Monday will be Chest/Tri, Wednesday will be Shoulders/Legs, and Friday will be Back/Bi. On off days I will be attempting to get in 3 days of cardio, with the strong possibility of a 4th if I feel that I do not need a full rest day. Diet will consist of clean foods and I will attempt to intake between 1800-2200 calories per day.

"Before" pictures from 11/20/04. I had to run a slight bright/dark filter on them along with an enhance filter on the side-view because I lost my light source.

Not the best time for my diet this past weekend, but it was an amazing weekend nonetheless. Took a trip up to Tallahassee to see the UF/FSU football game. Finally beat them in their home stadium! First time since 1986...it was great to see FSU's BCS bowl game slip away as we beat them. Damn, it feels good to be a Gator! Of course, after the game I had to celebrate with some beer and a lil McDonald's before we headed home in the morning.

Overall, I'm not too worried because I know the circumstances for this weekend were unique and I'll be back on "the wagon" immediately.

Back from Thanksgiving break and ready to cut like there is no tomorrow! :tu:
Picked up some food to keep me on track until I head home for Christmas.

Also, stumbled upon Sara Lee Whole Wheat bread while shopping. Has a good amount of fiber and protein per slice with minimal carbs. I was pretty happy about that find. I also decided to buy and try out some boca burgers...hopefully I'll like them. Boiled some eggs the other day for snacks. Damn, it sounds like I'm ready to cut!

Surprisingly, one of my friends has become more interested in eating healthy. He has always gone to lift and do cardio with me, but his horrible diet has always been his downfall. I'm encouraging him and I hope he keeps it up.

How much fat are you planning on burning off? From the pictures you don't look like you have a long way to go... Just a few months of cutting and you'll be ripped! :tu:

Good luck!

I've noticed that most people with my body-type and height seem to get that 8% ripped look between 145 and 150. I'd like to aim for around 150 and see how I look then. I'm more concerned about how I look than how much I weigh, but 145-150 is an estimate of where I think I would end up to be at ~8% bodyfat.

Now I'm off to play some basketball! Just got through a hellish week of school (turned in a big paper today), so I need to have a little fun!
