View Full Version : Your Opinion's On John's Site...
GorA Wed, February 11th, 2004, 07:46 PM I've been visiting this site for a while now, but due to a lot of factors I don't look forward to seeing John's everyday update, his new pics, and overall progress. I mean every day the updates are short, with the same meaning to them. The photos are also getting old, and it doesn't look like John's going anywhere any time soon (even though he looks great). Now that I see the new sponsor for the site, along with John's amazing support to its products, I'm starting to believe that the friendly side of this website is fading away.
John, seeing your progress helped me push myself hard for the first months of the transformation, but now there's no motivation. The forums are awsome, but there's a lot more stuff on other bodybuilding forums. At the beginning I found you unique; now I find you ordinary...
I think it's time to take it to the next lvl by making short videos of your workouts, having a family friend follow your program and post his/her progress with yours, and whatever else you can think of.
Who's with me?
PS.
I've tried different whey protein shakes and they all taste the same to me. Is it just me?
Lisa Stone Wed, February 11th, 2004, 07:53 PM well, then why don't you just leave? No one is stopping you.
I don't understand the reason for this post.
John Stone Wed, February 11th, 2004, 07:54 PM I don't care what you think of me or my site. Feel free to leave if you don't get anything out of it anymore. It is what it is.
Destiny Wed, February 11th, 2004, 08:14 PM I think the amount of people on this forum speaks for itself. If people didn't LOVE John's website, they wouldn't come back every day. John is not ordinary. He has extreme self discipline, motivation, and is a all around nice guy. The fact that he is still posting daily pictures demonstrates that he has dedication beyond what most people have. So what, he doesn't have a lot of new stuff to say? Big deal. He is spreading a positive message every single day and showing everyone that he not only transformed himself, but he is STAYING THAT WAY. As for the sponser, I think that is fantastic for John. Besides he explained that he is not just endorsing a product just to do it. He tried the product before hand and actually uses it himself. It is inexpensive and he is just trying to help people. If you did what John has done wouldn't you be glad to be approached by a sponser? I know I would. It is a small reward for all of his hard work. Give the guy a break. If you are not happy here, then go to the other forums you speak of. This one does not need dead weight like yours! :p
P.S. John, you are AMAZING!! You have inspired tons of people (obviously including me) and I appreciate your site and the work that goes into it!!
andi Wed, February 11th, 2004, 08:20 PM HA! GorA you are in for SUCH a beatdown..... glad the Stones weighed in first.
1. You've posted exactly 7 times. John has posted over 300 times. If you haven't gotten something useful out of the wealth of info he's posted in these forums, then perhaps you just can't read.
2. Not as friendly? Are you sure you're in the same place as the rest of us?
3. You've been here since last month. John's been doing this for himself and for others who care to see for over a year. Short attention span, have you?
4. John has already made it clear that he's spending hundreds of dollars to make this place available to people like us who appreciate it and even for ingrates like you. Why the hell shouldn't he accept a sponsor if it means defraying his costs just a tiny bit? And finally...
5. You're just plain rude.
teencraft Wed, February 11th, 2004, 08:44 PM Yea A good additive for "Protein powder" is bleach, it tastes so yummy, you should try it next time. Or you could just eat it straight, then watch your muslces grow. WOW!
neckowi Wed, February 11th, 2004, 09:18 PM Is this "Attack John" day? Are some of you cranky because you're not being transformed over night?
More importantly, have you ever run a website? And I mean a REAL website like this one. John doesn't owe you anything. As everyone has stated, STFU and leave if you don't like the site.
Rockman Wed, February 11th, 2004, 09:21 PM Not me. I'm cool with John's site the way it is. It is his site after all and he can do as he pleases, like mine our personal data and sell it to the big mean capitalistic corporations so they call me when I'm having dinner and charge my credit card for a membership to some naughty website out of Bulgaria and, and.... I swear, everyones out to get me! :p
Who's with me?
corbint Wed, February 11th, 2004, 09:22 PM John, seeing your progress helped me push myself hard for the first months of the transformation, but now there's no motivation. The forums are awsome, but there's a lot more stuff on other bodybuilding forums. At the beginning I found you unique; now I find you ordinary...
time to put my hoopty in park and preach...
John wasnt your sole source of motivation, inspiration, and perspiration that caused you to drag your less-than-perfect-ass to the gym. You had a big part in that, believe it or not. John wasnt at your house, waking you up, driving you to the gym, and also cooking your meals for you. YOU did that. You need to dig down deep inside bro, soul search a bit, and REALLY decide why you wanted to get in shape. Was it because of some fat network engineer slob in a minivan that lives down the street from the Disney family that got in shape, or was it the face, body, rolls, triple chin, etc that stare back in the mirror when you go to take a piss? I bet it was the latter, because thats what broke the camels mutha-f^*king back!!!!!!!!!!!!! You made the decision to change, he just showed you what was possible. If you are lacking in motivation, or having a problem hauling yourself to the gym because John is doing a slow bulk right now, god forbid he get hit by a bus! What happens then? You stop working out? You go swallow a pallet of twinkies? Be real bro, there are much more significant forces in your life that compelled you to workout besides John and his weak HTML, daily photos with his shoddy digicam, nagging pager, and his pile of broken cardio gear collecting in his garage. It was YOU, not him. You used Johns site just as a Carpenter uses a hammer. His site was a tool in your toolbox of "HELP ME DROP THIS DAMN FAT NOW PLEASE". He wasnt your only source of info, he was one of many. There are tons of transformation sites on the internet, google around, you will find them. Dont sit up at night crying the blues because the changes to Johns site come slow and thought out. Thats how he is... Look at his diet, slow changes over time which netted him the results he sought. The greatest thing about John and his site is that he WAS and IS and always WILL BE an "ordinary guy", which is why people get fired up seeing what an ordinary guy can do. Everyone is capable of making a transformation in their life. Everyone is capable of achieving everything they set their mind to, they just gotta DO IT! If you are using this as an excuse, there is something greater at play that you are unhappy with. Its sad that you need to take out your frustration on John, perhaps you didnt drop that extra pound this week, or gave in to a craving, or didnt get laid last night, but damn bro, ease up on the HATE. And hell YES there is much more stuff on other bodybuilding sites... Oh wait, Johns site isnt about "BODYBUILDING"? To the best of my knowledge, it was originally intended to be one man's diary as to what he was doing to make his transformation. He didnt begin his twowiresthing site because he intended it to be a wealth of articles, calculators, and other stuff... It originally started out with him taking pictures of his gardening in his back yard and dogs on his couches. Hell, he added a forum because a few of his site viewers asked him too(me included) because they were curious to meet the others that were performing transformations. He is adding stuff to this site, but damn, he DOES have a job, a wife, dogs, a house, a mortgage, and a frickin LIFE to live, hence the slow additions. He has nobody helping him with this site, no moderators, no nothing. Just himself, and his ever thoughtful yet brick-tossing wife.
Lets get real bro, John IS ordinary, but made a significant life change in that he got off his ass.
Realize this, ordinary people are capable of extraordinary things, get in the gym, kick some ass, and dont look back.
Tucker Wed, February 11th, 2004, 09:30 PM I'm extremely impressed by John's site and his transformation. It has completely re-inspired me to get my butt in shape. I've been working out for a few years now, but let myself go alittle over the course of last fall. Well, coming apon this site was a godsend, for now I'm more motivated than ever. And the forums is just a bonus to all that, allowing for great communication amongst people with the same goals. I think you're suffering from 'roid rage kid - go post on BB.com or mega-man.com
cya
GorA Wed, February 11th, 2004, 09:36 PM Well I guess my post was interpreted wrong (probably on my side). To straighten things out a bit.
1) Check out my other posts and see how JOHN motivated me (I'd say 50-60% was his work).
2) As far as I know these forums have been around for less than 2 months. I've been visiting this site ever since summer.
3) It is great that he has a sponsor. I mean he helped us for free, why not get something in return??? The only thing that kind of triggered me was how he makes the product #1, when people like me don't feel a difference when using other brands.
4) I loved the website at first, simply because John's change was amazing. Very motivational for starters. I learned from John (how to eat, exercise, rest) but with each visit there was less and less to learn. I'm sure many of you followed his footsteps and changed your life, but what's next?
5) Yes, I had a website once, with Nukes/Cracks and stuff, but that was lame. The dedication John has is truly amazing...
The main point to this post was to take this site to the new lvl, so that it dominates the mimic sites, and work at its full potential...
As to me hating this site, yea right, I told a lot of people about it and they thanked me for it, and more importantly started their own transformations. :tu:
After all, obesity is a major factor in heart attacks.
Once again if the owners felt touched by this post, I didn't mean to flame the site, just hint you.
John Stone Wed, February 11th, 2004, 09:41 PM EDIT: Ok, I had a bad day and then came home to posts like this and that really set me off... I'm human.
I welcome constructive criticism, but posts like GorA's are just rude and counterproductive. I'm going to lift his ban, but I don't want to hear any more of this kind of crap. If you don't like what I'm doing or the site then simply don't come back here. I won't mind, honest.
I'm going to bed now. Tomorrow's leg day. :p
