D-Link 802.11g Xtreme (http://tinyurl.com/3p4y5)

I'm going to pick it up later unless I hear anything negative about it. It got some great reviews.

Any other recommendations?

can't go wrong with d-link. go wired if you're on a desktop, though. unless, thats a big hassle. wireless is slower substantially, even at "108mbps". however, a road runner connection is 2.5 mbps, so you'll be wayyyy over that no matter what.

If you want a hackable router, linksys is open source. Check out this site (http://www.linksysinfo.org/).

The model you'd want is WRT54G or GS for "speed boost" if you want to use a proprietary wifi card in your laptop.

It was for my Apple iBook that I just got with its Airport Extreme Card. I ended up getting the Linksys WRT54G. I read that the only people who would benefit from the Speedbooster are those with a matching speedbooster wireless card, which I do not have.

I've got the 624 great wireless router... But make your life easier if you want to hookup another DeskTop to the wireless ..Use same brands and get the one that is the card with an antena.. the USB ones don't work very good..
I'm using it's firewall plus OutPost on my Laptop and Zone Lab on my desktops..

Also my Toshiba Laptop works fine with the 624.. Use the password or all your neighbors will be steal your signal..:)
