It's the best holiday. Everybody is in. All of us have something to be thankful for. Most of us quite a lot actually. When you gather with your families or friends, next Thursday, what will you be thankful for?
Personally, I am thankful for my health, my family,my faith in God, the inner peace that my workouts help bring me,the smell of spring, the color of autumn, the promise of a new day, the crisp, cold snap of a winter day, warm socks, cold beer, Harley-Davidson Motorcycles and the look on my dog's face when I turn in the driveway. And long tan legs. :tucool:

I'm thankful for the absence of some things. There's no one bombing us back to the stone ages, no authority telling me what I can and can't believe, or taking away my rights or my property because I don't toe the line, no starvation, no life-threatening illnesses or anything of that ilk near me or my loved ones.

What'm I thankful for? Driving with the t-tops off on a cool, crisp day... my music (the glue that holds my world together) and the ability to express it... for the ability to maintain the life I have... my family... my friends... finding JSF and my health... the small of a woman's back and the sweet smell on the nape of her neck... sleeping in a warm blanket on a cold morning... for guilty pleasures that we get to have, even take forgranted at times... for the men who protect my freedom...

I could keep going, but you get the idea. ;)

Though I'm not American, I didn't take the opportunity to express my thanks when the time came a few weeks ago, so I will do so now.

I am thankful for friends who appreciate me even when I do stupid things, and for my family who praises my strengths rather than criticising my weaknesses.

I am thankful for the good health that I have been blessed with. I'm thankful for the opportunities that I've been given, and for the obstacles that have been put in my way that have made me a stronger person.

Of course, I'm thankful for chocolate.

I'm thankful for the internet; without it I would have no job! :)

I am thankful for my grandchildren, wife, kids, job and a peaceful, steady life.

The main difference between last year and this year that I am thankful for is John Stone Fitness. If I hadn't found this site, I would probably still be eating nothing but junk food, not working out and complaining about being unable to gain weight.

The most important (new) thing I am thankful for are you guys. People like Swole Cat, Jeremy, John, kmfisher, tstester, skoorb, 1FastGTX, Bluestreak,TheOldGuy, and alot more than space will allow. It is people like you that make this site what it is and you help motivate people into wanting to get in shape. You are willing to share your experience and knowledge with others to help them progress. This may seem natural, but in far too many places in the real world, the only help and advice people will give you, is advice that will only benefit them.

So, truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to all of you for what you do and who you are. We may not always agree, but believe this, each of you has my upmost respect. :tucool:

P.S. I left some names out, this wasn't done on purpose, but I am doing this at work and I only had 4 hours of sleep last night (that doesn't include the numerous times I woke up through out the night. :o )

Plus, nobody here like's to be a dink just for the sake of it, because their time here is cut short if they are.

Great topic! My last newsletter had an editorial I wrote just about this ... so here it is ...

This is the time of year to give thanks. I feel we should always give thanks, and perhaps the two greatest gifts I've received in this life were learning how to forgive, and learning how to live in gratitude.

I used to feel that I had to sacrifice in order to work hard for my family. Now I realize it is a privilege. For this, I give thanks.

I give thanks to you. You are the backbone of this business and the reason I am able to share my vision of health and wellness with the world. My clients, customers, partners, and subscribers are an incredible group of people who I constantly learn from. I thank you for your patience, for your willingness to receive, and for your contributions to the evolution of this business.

I give thanks for having a wonderful family. My teenaged son teaches me something new every day about how to be a better father. My young daughter is truly a blessing and brings a smile to my face every morning. My lovely wife is my other half, she is my best friend and my strength, and does so much behind the scenes to keep this business moving forward and to help me reach more people.

I give thanks to my wonderful mentors. Without becoming a student, I would still be stuck in a cubicle dreaming about sharing health and wellness with the world, instead of living it. Special thanks to Ian King, who brought me into free enterprise. Thanks to the Dream Team International, my mastermind group that has supported me incredibly from the beginning. Thanks to Jeffrey Combs who was an amazing catalyst in my quest to leave the corporate world and become and entrepeneur and continues to be a powerful coach. Thanks to John Di Lemme, whose energy and enthusiasm has helped me uncover my own passion, desire, and most importantly - my "why." Thanks to Mike Litman who teaches me how to reach more people and effectively share my message. Thanks to Tom Venuto who answers every e-mail and shares with an open, giving heart. Thanks to John Stone at John Stone Fitness for partnering with me to share our common vision with his wonderful community. Thanks to Dr. Joe "Mr. Fire" Vitale for taking "Become the Journey" to a new level and for sharing his incredible experience, as well as for the inspiration I gained from his book, Spiritual Marketing.

Thanks to other coaches and mentors I've had but did not mention by name. You are not forgotten, I appreciate you - the list is simply too long to place here. Know that you have my thanks, appreciation, and gratitude in my heart.

I give thanks to those of you who contribute your valuable time to read this newsletter and other e-mails. I give thanks to my preferred customers for having faith in the products and sharing their experiences with me. I give thanks to those of you who have read my articles, books, and listened to my CDs. I give a special thanks to my coaching clients who not only share their time and energy with me, but are open to receiving new ideas and taking action to reach their goals, while teaching me more about character and leadership in the process. A warm thanks to my international team of distributors who are a powerful part of my mastermind group and help connect me to people around the world.

Thanks to my international guests for your patience as I transform this site to be more internationally-friendly. I will be updating the fitness tools to use metrics as well as U.S. units of measure because you deserve it.

Thanks Mom, and thanks, Dad. You have always had faith and belief in me and your love is what gives me the courage to move forward.

Thanks to the Lead-Deadwood and Spearfish communities for supporting us in our move to the area as we establish our local presence. Thanks to Atlanta for being there when we launched this business.

There is so much more to give thanks for. This newsletter is already lengthy, so I will stop here and continue with appreciation in my heart. Thank YOU for taking the time to read this and share with me as I give thanks. God Bless!

I've been thinking about this very subject a lot these past few days. Where shall I start...

First of all, I'm thankful for my wonderful wife, Lisa. She has always stood with me and supported me no matter what. I never thought I would be so fortunate as to spend my life with someone as wonderful as she is. We're a perfect match. We're still in love after all these years and we still make each other laugh every single day. That's a pretty rare thing, and I treasure it.

I'm very thankful for my family and friends. I have a supportive, loving family and great friends.

I'm thankful for my health. This is a big one. Two years ago I felt like I was dying, and now I feel like I could spin the world on my finger. I'm thankful that I was given a second chance at life. I grateful that I was able to recognize my many health problems before it was too late, and that I had the strength to correct them. There's no question that the support of my family and friends (both online and IRL) played a large part in my ability to conquer my demons.

I'm very thankful for all of you. I've made many wonderful friends and met many interesting people these past few years. I'm so proud of this community and the people who make it what it is. My humble little web site has grown much larger than I ever expected it would, and now, through these forums, JSF has a life of its own. Every time someone comes here and manages to improve his or her health and/or life, I feel like I'm the luckiest guy in the world to have been a part of that change.

I'm thankful for my two dogs, Loki and Turtle. They brighten my day, every day. No matter what kind of mood I'm in they manage to improve it.

I'm thankful that I have a job, a roof over my head, plenty of food to eat.

Really, I have no complaints at all. I feel like I'm an exceedingly fortunate person.

i'm thankful for my health and the health of my family, for my g/f win or lose i'm a better person for having met her.

i'm thankful my Dad is still here, almost a year ago he should have died from a massive heart attack, and today I called my Dad for advice on a difficult situation. To be able to make that phone call means everything to me. At only 54 i'm not ready to see him go just yet.

I am thankful for my beautiful niece and nephew, for my inner circle of friends that give me strength and guidance even when I think i dont need it.

I'm thankful for meeting someone like John Stone. Even if I go my own way in my training and never visit JSF again...I feel better knowing there is someone like him in the world, giving so much to so many instead of just taking...a rare thing in this world. It gives me faith that not all of mankind are a bunch of soulless scum bags.

Happy Turkey Day. :D

I'm thankful for my family, health and all that, but I am also thankful for the men and women of our Armed Forces that are fighting and dying in a faraway land and those that have died, that let us enjoy this holiday.

Being a veteran, I can't believed I didn't state this.

Let's not forget the many veterans who were lucky to live. They also paved the way for this country. My father was shot 5 times in the Korean War, but was licky enough to live.

We owe all the men and women of the Armed Forces a hugand a thank you. :claplow: :claphigh: :claphigh:

Jack,

The ending of your message started bringing tears to my eyes. I am sure your parents see their daughter-in-law and do love her. I will pray that your nephews come home safe and in one piece.
