View Full Version : Stupid Stupid Stupid Stupid!!!!!
ShadowPenguin November 15th, 2004, 10:45 AM why oh why am I so friggin stupid. Why on Gods green earth did I pick TONIGHT to have a heart to heart all serious talk with the girlfriend......why my woe-is-me attitude you ask?
ITS GAME DAY!!!!!! My Eagles are about to swoop down on the cowboys and I just KNOW i'll miss the whole thing because of this friggin talk. Its something that needs to happen, major problems on the homefront...but god damn it why did it fall on tonight?
I had picked Wensday to bring it up, but we started exchanging text messages this morning in reference to current issues and before I know it i'm marking my schedule for a "talk" after work...which means after the gym...which means about 8pm which means right as the pigskin is in the air, we'll be....*SHIVER*..."communicating".
Ugh...
*END OF RANT*

It sounds like you're not really interested in talking anyway... if your football game is more importat than a heart to heart with your girlfriend, then you may want to just reconsider the whole relationship.

PeteBDawg November 15th, 2004, 11:51 AM Danger, Will Robinson! Danger!
I feel your pain, man. It's going to be hard to mask your disinterest. I don't see an easy way out of this one.
Hey, count yourself lucky. My worst experience like that was about three years ago. I dated this girl for about a year, much of it long distance, and then broke up with her, kind of by surprise, at the beginning of a new school year, when I found that the letters we'd been writing had drifted away from how we related to each other in person.
I was in school in Connecticut, I lived in New Jersey at the time, my dad worked in the financial district of New York City.
You can see where this is going.
I broke up with her on September 9, 2001. It went poorly. On September 11, 2001, she wanted to "renegotiate." The phone lines were all clogged, so I thought my dad might have been killed. I didn't really want to talk to her.
(he was on top of the Trade center for a big meeting he had told me about, but on the previous Tuesday, I had mixed up the dates. It turns out the meeting was September 4, that he hadn't gone into the city that day, and was okay. But my hometown was hit really hard by the attack - two guys who lived on my block were killed, 22 altogether from a town a couple of miles across of no more than 26,000 people).
I asked if we could put off the "talk" for another time. She insisted that we not. It went really poorly. The girl hates my guts to this day.
And now, in a crazy coincidence, she just got a job working in my office! If the timing of that talk had been a little different, I might now not be nearly so stressed out.
The moral of the story is . . . eh, there is no moral. Sometimes, timing stinks, and you need to roll with it. Do it better than I did. Good luck!

lol thanks man...at least i know people have worse stories than I do.
I doubt there will ever be a "good" time for this talk to happen. But at least I know i really care about her because this whole thing is driving me bat shit. If i was as cold hearted as most think me to be this would be SOOOOO much easier.
I just remember how fun it used to be...i would acutally kind of like to "date" her again...i think moving in together too soon really squirreled things up. I want to find out if we really are just two different people now....but after the game
;)
BusyChild November 15th, 2004, 04:58 PM I don't know why you're so stuck on the Eagles and the Cowboys, it should be an easy win for the Eagles.
Well wait, I think I got it here. Perhaps you understand that ultimately you are going to be let down by the Eagles so you need to see every win you can get while it lasts. I guess that's it then.

French Spirit November 15th, 2004, 07:19 PM Maybe you'll make it to the Superbowl, but no one's getting past the Steelers this year :D
pixie November 15th, 2004, 08:54 PM Shadow: Hey dude. I feel for ya. I am seriously committed to my football. Never schedule anything serious for Sunday or Monday if possible during FB season. It goes by too fast (Week 10 has come and gone).
And it's not something to look forward to when a girl uses the work "talk" as a noun rather than in verb form.
Good luck, hope it doesn't take all four quarters.
