I was wondering if it was ok to do it at night, since it's suppossed to boost your metabolism and I imagine it would be less effective at night.

without a doubt it wont be nearly as effective.

all your doing is reving up your metabolism for the evening, burning whatever you from that point on more effeciently.. heck, it might even keep you up at night

I'm not convinced it's less effective. I know several people who got phenomenal results in their Body-for-Life challenges working out at night. I also have not seen any evidence that cardiovascular excerise revs up your metabolism after you stop; to the best of my knowledge, it does not create the "afterburn" that lifting does.

So, until I see credible evidence to the contrary, I'd say do your cardio where it fits into your day.

And definitely do it at night instead of not at all!

cardio at 6pm is much better than cardio at 9 or 10. it will keep you up, yet you will be drained since it will be near the end of your daily meals

Well, I've been doing my cardio in the morning and in the evening, mostly between 8 and 10 PM. 2years and 1 month and I am almost 120 lbs down. True, you will probably not get a good night sleep, because the metabolism is at a higher rate then it should. But I have been doing it in the evening and still do it today. And I am happy.
